Indonesian - Head of Education in some areas prohibit the students celebrate the day of love aka Valentine's day. Indonesian Commission for Child Protection (KPAI) responded positively to it.
KPAI Commissioner for Education, Susanto said, valentine celebration during this practice tends to be negative. The teens often celebrate the day of love with rah-rah, have fun without meaning to free sex outside of marriage.
"The tendency of such negative practices, we can understand the presence of circular Department of Education in order not to celebrate Valentine's. I think it could restrict circular adverse action of the students themselves," Susanto said when contacted on Saturday (14/02/2015) .
Yet according to Susanto, the real meaning of love valentine can be interpreted as more positive. Valentine's Day for the youth can bring the spirit of togetherness aka concordance with other school students to reject forms of violence such as fights or bullying.
"Including zero brawl campaign, campaign uproot violence in schools, without culture seniority, without bullying, financial abuse, bullying, and others," he said.
